What is Slimebert?

Slimebert is a giant neon green slime anomaly introduced in The Hazmat Team Arrives update (July 25, 2026). Unlike other anomalies that try to blend in, Slimebert openly enters the hospital by checking in at reception — handing you a registration form covered in slime — before barging into the facility.

It roams the hospital looking for slime to eat, players to swallow, and patients to target. Slimebert is immune to both tasers and firearms, making it impossible to kill using conventional weapons.

How to Trigger the Slime Event

  1. Progress to later shifts: The slime event typically triggers between Shift 11-17.
  2. Watch for the message: The game will display “the air feels slimy” — this signals the event is starting.
  3. Stamp the containment form: A containment form appears at reception. Stamp it to let the Hazmat team enter.
  4. Hazmat workers arrive: Animal Corp sends Hazmat workers to clean slime while you continue treating patients.
  5. Slimebert appears: Shortly after, Slimebert checks in and begins roaming the hospital.

Slimebert Behavior & Attacks

Swallows Players

If Slimebert reaches you, it swallows you dealing -20 Sanity instantly, followed by -3 Sanity each time it digests you. Use a fire extinguisher immediately to escape.

Targets Patients

Slimebert actively hunts patients and Hazmat workers. If it eats a patient, you lose that patient's treatment income. Track its position between rooms.

Slimes the Player

Getting slimed by Slimebert applies the Slimed effect, causing -20 sanity damage. Back off after contact and restore sanity before re-entering its path.

Leaves Slime Trails

As Slimebert moves through the hospital, it leaves behind slime contamination. This slows player movement and increases environmental Sanity drain.

Slime Event Survival Tips

  • Always carry a fire extinguisher: Starting from Shift 3, grab the free fire extinguisher. It is your only defense against Slimebert.
  • Save $250 cash: After surviving the slime event, you can hire Sam NPC for $250. Sam automatically cleans slime and helps with anomalies for 3 shifts.
  • Pair with Firefighter class: The Firefighter starts with a rechargeable fire extinguisher, making it the ideal class for the slime event.
  • Don't waste ammo: Tasers and guns do NOT affect Slimebert. Save your weapon charges for Skinwalkers and other killable threats.
  • Protect patients first: Focus on patient flow and only clean slime when it does not pull you away from treating patients.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you kill Slimebert?

No. Slimebert is immune to tasers, guns, and all weapons. The only way to deal with it is to survive until the shift ends. Use fire extinguishers to stun it temporarily.

How do you spot Slimebert at check-in?

Slimebert wears yellow hazmat gear but leaves glowing green footprints and has a distorted voice. Use the Scanner tool for instant detection — red means danger.

Does Sam NPC help against Slimebert?

Sam cleans slime and deals with Hiders, but cannot directly fight Slimebert. Sam is most useful for cleaning up the slime contamination that Slimebert leaves behind.

Does Slimebert appear every shift?

No. Slimebert only appears during the special slime shift (triggered between Shift 11-17). The slime event lasts for the duration of that shift.

Can Slimebert kill you?

Yes, if you have less than 20 Sanity remaining. Being swallowed deals -20 Sanity plus -3 per digestion tick. Keep your Sanity high before entering the slime shift.
