Animal Hospital Journal Collection System Guide

The Journal Collection System (also called the Anomaly Index) is a permanent progression feature introduced in The Hazmat Team Arrives update on July 25, 2026. It serves as an in-game encyclopedia that automatically records every anomaly, NPC, and event you encounter during your shifts at Animal Hospital.

Each time you discover a new entity — whether it is a visual anomaly at the reception window, an NPC interaction in the hallways, or a special event encounter — a detailed entry is unlocked in your Journal. These entries contain lore descriptions, detection tips, and encounter history that help you master the game.

1. Automatic Unlock: The Journal activates the first time you encounter any unique anomaly or NPC during a shift.
2. Access from Pause Menu: Press ESC or navigate to the pause menu during a shift to open the Journal tab.
3. Review Entries: Browse collected entries by category — Anomalies, NPCs, and Events. Each entry shows the entity name, first encounter date, and lore notes.
4. Track Progress: A completion percentage display shows how many total entries you have collected versus the total available.

• Play all shifts: Different anomalies and NPCs spawn at different shift levels. Higher shifts unlock rarer encounters.
• Interact with every NPC: Some entries require speaking with NPCs like Liz, Ron, or Sam to trigger Journal logs.
• Try different classes: Certain anomalies only appear when specific class roles are active in the shift.
• Check event windows: Limited-time events like Hazmat Team and Pink Patients add exclusive entries that may not return.
