Starting Shift 2, a patient can levitate mid-air ringed by ritual candles. You have ~30–40 seconds before the sacrifice.
What Is the Death Ritual?
A supernatural sacrifice event in patient rooms.
During the event a patient floats into mid-air above their hospital bed, surrounded by floating ritual candles. A dark chant audio plays and a red countdown timer begins. If the timer expires, the patient is sacrificed — causing a massive Sanity drop for your team and an automatic fail penalty on the shift.
It triggers randomly in patient rooms starting from Shift 2 onwards, so treat every night-shift room as a possible ritual site.
How to Stop the Ritual
Two methods — pick by your loadout.
Method A — Extinguish the Candles (Standard)
- Sprint into the room and press E on every lit candle.
- You must extinguish all candles within ~30 seconds to break the ritual.
- Slow is smooth — clear them in one efficient loop around the bed.
Method B — Taser Insta-Stop (Pro)
- Equip the X-Taser and shoot the levitating patient once.
- The electrical shock breaks the spell instantly — no candles touched.
- Fastest option when a Taser is in your quick-slot.
Prepare Before the Ritual
Surviving is half the battle — recovery is the other.
- Pre-stock Coffee (or a Chocolate Bar) — stopping the ritual burns Sanity you must recover.
- Keep a Taser in your quick-slot to use Method B.
