What Is the Ghost?

The Ghost is a corridor entity added in the late June 2026 update. It is a hostile spirit that appears in the hallways of Animal Hospital. Unlike most threats that spawn regardless of your actions, the Ghost has a specific trigger condition: it only appears after a patient has died during the current shift.

A mini patch on June 29, 2026 fixed the Ghost to ensure it no longer spawns as a random mid-shift wanderer. Now it is directly tied to patient death, making it predictable and preventable.

How to Counter the Ghost

X-Taser

The X-Taser stuns the Ghost temporarily, giving you time to escape or reposition. Security class starts with one at Level 1 (5 uses), with more charges at higher levels.

Gun

The Gun deals with the Ghost permanently, similar to how it handles Skinwalkers. Secret Agent class starts with one at Level 1 (20 uses). Save ammo for emergencies.

Avoidance

If you are unarmed, avoid the Ghost entirely. Close doors behind you and take alternative routes through the hospital. The Ghost cannot open doors.

Prevention

The best counter is preventing patient death. Keep medkits stocked, treat patients quickly, and monitor vitals in treatment rooms. A living patient means no Ghost.

Ghost Spawn Rules (Post-June 29 Patch)

Ghost only spawns after at least one patient has died during the shift.
It does not spawn randomly — if no one dies, the Ghost never appears.
The Ghost patrols hallways and corridors, draining sanity on contact.
